Marriage

I crawled in bed next to my wife and gave her kiss on the cheek.  She said,"We're not having sex tonight," and rolled over with her back to me.

The View From The Top

Went hiking in the mountains near my house this past weekend.  Though the sky was overcast at most points on the compass it was clear overhead as I began my ascent.

There was a gentleman on the mountain above me singing in a full, rich voice.  I couldn't understand the words as it was in Chinese but it sounded like opera.  Beautiful and somewhat surreal drifting down the mountainside.

As I reached the top

Hopefully I'll have better luck next time

Book Review - The Assassins' Village

Had a chance to do some reading.  Came across The Assassins' Village by Faith Mortimer

An original setting - a small mountain village in Cyprus - with an eclectic mix of characters including a number of expatriates and local Cypriots provide an inventive recipe  for a good whodunit murder mystery.

At the onset of the story the victim appears to be a prominent and dignified man.  In reality though he is a thoroughly despicable human being with a host of enemies, any one of which could be the killer.  With such a large cast of characters it is sometimes hard to keep them all straight but each contributes their own story to the rich mélange that is The Assassins' Village.  A good read.

Home From Vacation

Finally made it back home.

Spent a few weeks back in the States.  Everytime I visit, especially after having been in the less developed parts of the world, I think one thing...

God Bless America!!!

Introduction

I have always loved to read.  In my youth I voraciously read every tale of adventure I could find from the biographies of war heroes, frontiersmen and adventurers to the fictional works of Alistair MacLean, Jack Higgins and the like.  The stories of daring exploits spurred my imagination distracting me at school and invading my dreams.  I just always assumed that life would be full of adventure.  I would live it and then write about it.  Though my life has been interesting it probably wouldn't sell very many books.  Fortunately I still have my imagination.  Day dreams still interrupt my work but now I write them down.

My first novel, Last Chance, is now for sale at Amazon.com in the Kindle Store.

Dive into intrigue and romance.  Be transported to exotic Southeast Asia and join Ian McEdwards, a down-on-his-luck American businessman living in Malaysia, as he weathers storms, outwits terrorist, and falls in love, all while looking for clues to the location of a sunken shipload of gold.

Ian works as a freelance international business consultant. That is how he earns a living. But his passion is SCUBA diving and the search for the wreck of the legendary treasure ship Sunchaser. Desperate for business, Ian unknowingly takes a client that is in actuality a money-laundering front for Abu Sayyaf, one of the most virulent terrorist organizations in Southeast Asia. Soon the CIA moves in to investigate and Ian finds himself falling in love with a young, beautiful, covert agent. Caught between terrorists and the Agency, while searching for a fortune in lost gold, Ian is grasping for one LAST CHANCE.
